| Consipe helps families of children with disabilities
by working with government and private institutions from around
the country to bring professional aid to these children.
Consipe organizes workshops where parents actively participate
in the rehabilitation of their children. At these workshops,
parents share their experiences, and learn new techniques to help
their children to become contributing members of society. A
parent of a child with Downs Syndrome said, “My whole family
worked together to overcome this challenge. As parents, we love
our son and want him to be happy and for him to be able to be an
active member of the society. We needed help and we went to
Consipe where we learned the tools to success. Now our son is not
only a great musician and a swimming champion, but also a very
happy well liked boy who goes to a regular school and
participates in regular activities with his friends.”
Consipe helped in studies done to develop the Law For People
With Disabilities. It organizes seminars and classes to train
teachers. By coordinating activities such as the “Special
Olympics”, Consipe has raised the awareness of society to
accept people with disabilities as contributing members. More
information is available on the Consipe
website and on their brochure.
