Policlinico Rosario
was founded by Mrs. Virginia
Blanco Tardío who devoted her life to help the needy.
Mrs. Tardío originally started Acción
Católica in Cochabamba, and daily lunch for the poor (Comedores
Sociales) which eventually moved to a house donated by Mrs.
Adelaida Morales. With her persevering determination to help the
poor she founded at this site what is now known as the
Policlinico Rosario. After Mrs Virginia Blanco Tardío
passed away in 1991, her sister, Mrs Maria Teresa Saravia,
continued to help the needy.
More than 150 needy people receive daily
meals at Policlinico Rosario. Two doctors, two dentists,
one pharmacist and two nurses help provide the services.
Low income people receive free or low cost vaccinations, dental
care and lab analysis.
The needs of this center are very basic.
To continue operations, they need a high speed dental drill, and
replacements of obsolete equipment such as blood pressure
instruments, sterilization oven, and cast material. |
